Helena Ovens, ND, FCAH, CCH, CBHT has been involved in the Natural Health field since 1975. She graduated from the Ontario College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1992 and had been practising in the Beaches community for over 20 years.
She won the Award for Excellence in Clinical Nutrition and also teaches an Introductory Courses in Naturopathic Nutrition. Following graduation from naturopathic college, Helena completed a 3-year post-graduate training program in Homeopathy and continues to develop her Homeopathic education. Helena taught Homeopathy at the Transformational Arts College and the Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine.
Helena treated patients of all ages and conditions including cancer treatment and prevention. Although she has a specialty in Classical Homeopathy, she utilized all modalities of Naturopathic Medicine and closely follows the principles thereof, prevention being the most important. Helena believed firmly in dietary and detoxification protocols with botanical support. She also engaged in lifestyle counselling and coaching. Helena truly believed in “health through education” and her motto was (and always will be) “putting the care back in healthcare.”
Dr. Ovens passed away in 2016. The Naturopathic Legacy Project is honoured to have her expertise documented to share for future NDs.
